Faith Covenant’s Forum Open!

June 10th, 2008

After much fighting with php, html and other “codes” and wrestling with graphics I am happy to say the forum for Faith Covenant Church is now open!  There’s still a few glitches here and there that will have to be worked out along the way, but I’m quite content to open the forum to registrations now.

It’s been more of a challenge getting it ready due to my wonderful “room spinning” dizzy spells!  For over a week now I have felt like I am walking on the deck of a ship on rough seas.  My general practice doctor put me on prescription motion-sickness pills and referred me to a specialist.  The pills sorta-kinda help.  I still toddle around but at least the room spinning is less frequent, I’m just generally off balance now.

I saw the specialist once already.  I had a balance test that checks to see if crystals in the inner ear were free floating (this would have been an easily correctable thing) but no, the test was negative.  So now I have an appointment Thursday for a more in-depth balance test to try and figure out why I am having dizzy spells and room-spinning episodes.  Hopefully we’ll come up with an answer & solution Thursday.

In baby news, Miss Emily turned 4 months old on June 5th.  At her well-baby check we found out she now weighs 15 pounds even and is 24 inches long!  We’ve also been given the green light to start rice cereal, fruits and vegetables.  So far the rice cereal was “ok.”  Rice cereal with bananas, not so enthusiastic.  Today, rice cereal and squash?  Hey… now that’s pretty tasty momma (at least that’s the expression she gave me).

Well, that’s about it for now.

Smiles,
Cat

New Blogs!

June 2nd, 2008

I’ve just finished installing new Word Press blogs for our church’s website.  I’m very happy that all went smoothly.  It’s my hope that other members will not only enjoy reading the blogs but will also wish to begin blogging themselves.

Next I am moving on to installing a brand new forum for our members!  Due to a recent change in webhosts we are now able to expand our website to include more interactive areas such as blogs and forums.   I’m very excited about this.  I’ve been enjoying expanding things and redesigning the website.

In the “mommy zone” I have to say I am loving every minute of being a new mommy.  My little Pooh Bear Emily, is a complete joy.  I can’t believe how quickly she changes.  Every day I see something different about her and watch as her personality begins to blossom.  Right now we’re beginning the process of teething.  Bless her heart, despite the pain that causes occasional fussiness, she is a very happy baby in general.  She’s also developing at a much quicker pace than I anticipated… she’s going to keep mommy on her toes!

Thursday she’ll be 4 months old!  It’s so hard to believe.  She’ll have her 4 month well baby check-up.  That comes with mixed feelings for me.  On one hand I can’t wait to see how much she’s grown, but on the other hand I don’t look forward to her immunizations.  It just breaks my heart to see her in pain, even though it’s for the best.
